There were 472,121 mustangs built in 1967. Of those, roughly 1,000 of them were painted dusk rose pink. (the color code was originally blank, and the later "s", so it makes the total count tricky considering there were 8 colors with "blank" paint codes on the door plates. The numbers estimate I got from Kevin Marti on the "playboy pink" mustangs was roughly 200. I saw the mustang in the article, and it was gorgeous, and also the only known HiPo 390 to have ever been built in that color. Rare doesn't always mean valuable though, value is more of a function on demand, and demand on a pink mustang doesn't compare to say, a Shelby. He may have $175,000 in the car, but does that really make it worth that much? There may be someone out there willing to pay that sort of money, but I don't expect to see it right now. Unless the car were to sell tomorrow for $175,000, I think assessing what it is "worth" right now can be difficult. They say that "if the top goes down, the price goes up. So you might want to try and find out if you do have a "playboy" mustang. You may own one of the only "playboy" soft top mustangs. As pink mustangs come up for sale I am more than happy to post them on my website, and I actually had a woman contact me recently about selling my pink mustang. Although my car is not for sale, if someone offered me the right price, I'd be tempted to let it go.
